Stand By Me Walks Spring 2016

Today's Music Friday is inspired by walking and friends. This Spring, the first Stand By Me walk happened in Richmond. A lovely idea from our dear friend Kelley Ralph to join the ladies together, to walk, talk, laugh, cry, share, reflect, learn.

We choose National Trust circular walk to ham House Richmond. A walk from a station, near/in London, under 10km.

Twelve ladies met at Richmond Station on a fine spring Saturday for this 7km walk.

Walking through the town and on the high road with views over London and the river.

Into Richmond Park and the dappled light of the trees and beautiful blooms.

A little gate leads up a tiny hill to Henry's Mound with a view St Paul's 13 miles away, one of 8 protected views of the monument in London.

A stroll down the hill to find Petersham Nurseries, the perfect place for a deli lunch on the terrace under the wisteria.

A wander down the river path to Ham House, then back along the river to the town and station.

The day was beautiful with stunning views. I can't recommend highly enough, the walk and lunch.

I hope this post inspires you to set a date, invite your friends and ask them to 'stand by me' walk, talk and have a lovely day out.

Here are some good websites to look at for future walks, wegoplaces , Time Out , National Trust and Out of The Loop.
