The Alchemist is a tale of a shepherd boy from Spain with a recurring dream that treasure is buried near the Pyramids in Egypt. The boy visits a gypsy to interrupt his dream. She says 'Go to The Pyramids!' So he sells his sheep and departs on a journey, meeting a king in a square who gives him two stones and told to go find his Personal Legend and treasure.
The boy comes across many issues and problems to stop him from achieving his dream of reaching the Pyramids. He is robbed of all his money when we enters Africa and works for a year with a crystal merchant to save for his onward journey. The Merchant has a dream to go to Mecca but decides the dream is better than the reality.

Do the things that you love, something that lights you up, puts fire in your belly.
Most people don’t recognise their mission or are too scared to follow their path.

This line is repeated throughout the book, believe in your dream. Courage, perseverance, action are all mentioned, it’s a story guide for your life.
Whatever your dreams, they will come true.
The path will never be easy, you will have to work hard, you will have to be patient.
To follow a dream you have to take action. Thoughts are great but without action they are air.
Action is key! Be brave and never give up!
The Alchemist is a phenomenon and inspired millions to follow their dreams. Thank you Paulo for writing an inspiring book.
