Top 5 Spring Clean You

The sun is shining, spring has sprung although it felt like summer at the weekend, woo hoo! Time for the beach is fast approaching. Here and now it's time for a fresh start, blast off that winter coat and leap into a new you!

 

 

From my investigations online and in practise here are my Top 5 Spring Clean YOU!

1.

Drink water!

Japanese women drink 640ml of water first thing in the morning, 4 glasses of 160ml then no food for 45 minutes (source)

Improves complexion and skin radiance,

Promotes healthy shiny hair,

Strengthens immune system.

And said to improve diabetes or high blood pressure patients: allow 30 days, suffers of constipation and gastritis: allow 10 days TB patients: allow 90 days.

We are made up of 70% of water so seems an easy solution to solve a whole host of problems.

I've been following the advice and feel so much better. My skin is clearer, I've suffered from perioral dermatitis for months, (future post on how to improve), the succession of colds have gone and I'm feeling good.

Try it out and see how you get on.

2.

Green Smoothie for breakfast

I LOVE a green smoothie for breakfast, so much good stuff in one hit. The book Honestly Healthy has a double page spread of loads of delicious combinations, buy the book, there are tons of great dishes to give you an alkaline diet for health and wellbeing.

Here's my favourite green smoothie.

Skin Booster

10cm piece of cucumber

1 handful of spinach

Juice of one lemon

2 celery sticks, roughly chopped

1 kiwi

1/4 avocado

475ml filtered water

Whizz in your blender and enjoy!

And if you're tight on time with the drinking water and the 45 minute gap before breakfast, take your smoothie with you and drink at work...

3.

Declutter your wardrobe

Go through your wardrobe and remove anything that is old or out of season or you haven't worn in years. That is 90% of my wardrobe, I need a spring shopping spree. Invest in some key pieces, know your lifestyle and body shape, be sensible. (notes to self) No money? Then sell your old clothes or anything that you are over. ( I've tried lots of ways, I'm investigating a new way today, future post)

4.

Set new intentions for the next 3 months

New year isn't the only time to set intentions and focus on your dreams.

Write down 10 things you'd like to happen in the next 3 months.

Take the most important one and write 10 things to help you reach the dream.

Use your schedule to help you keep on track, small daily steps towards the end.

Work through your dream list to make all your dreams come true.

5.

Meditate

I've signed up, join me and see how 20 minutes a day will change your life or will it? (future post) I always fall asleep, it's called a practise and you know what they say practise makes perfect... Let's see what happens.
